House Exterior Cleaning

Most house exteriors should never see high pressure. The job is to lift the growth off the surface, not force water behind it.

Walls, eaves, soffits and cladding collect a fine layer of airborne dirt, cobwebs and organic growth — usually worst on the shaded southern side. High pressure on these surfaces risks driving water into joints, lifting paint and damaging render.

We use a low-pressure soft-wash approach instead: the surface is treated, given time to work, then rinsed at a pressure the material can take. It's slower, and it's the right way to do it.

What’s included

  • Assessment of the wall material and its condition
  • Plants, outdoor furniture and fittings considered before we start
  • Low-pressure application, dwell time, then a controlled rinse
  • Cobweb and nest removal from eaves and corners
  • A walk-around with you at the end

Surfaces we handle

  • Painted weatherboard and fibre cement
  • Rendered and bagged walls
  • Face brick and blockwork
  • Eaves, soffits, fascia and barge boards
  • Garage doors, downpipes and exterior trims

Surface limitations

Existing damage doesn't get better under water. Flaking paint, failed sealant, perished render and rotted timber are noted before work starts and may limit what's possible. Where we think a surface shouldn't be washed, we'll say so.

Questions

House Exterior,
answered.

Is soft washing different from pressure washing?

Yes. Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution that does the work, then rinses. Pressure washing relies on force. Walls, eaves and most cladding are soft-wash surfaces.

Will it strip my paint?

Sound paint is not affected by a correctly applied soft wash. Paint that is already flaking or blistering can lift, which is why we look at the condition first and tell you what we find.

Do you clean the whole house or just part of it?

Either. Some people want the full exterior, others only the shaded wall that has gone green. We quote on the scope you actually want.
